Our staff have years of expertise in stack testing, ambient air and noise monitoring, workplace exposure monitoring - including dust, noise, VOCs, pesticides, and mask and respirator fit testing - and environmental testing, and we are accredited for a wide range of tests.
Occupational Hygiene
Too many people in Aotearoa New Zealand die or suffer from work-related ill-health and disease. Whatever industry you’re in, there are hazards involved. Workers might be exposed to excessive noise, or highly toxic fumes like welding fumes, or dangerous dusts such as crystalline silica which can cause various lung diseases. Contact Verum Group to identify potential sources of harm and suggest ways to prevent, mitigate, or eliminate the potential exposure for people. We also train employees in the hazards and educate on ways to minimize exposure.
Mask & Respirator Fit Testing
A mask fit test checks the effectiveness of the respiratory protection for employees, and are part of a company's commitment to health and safety. Tests are conducted to international standards prescribed by NZOHS, which simulate real-life work situations.
Stack Testing
Verum Group offers a wide range of stack testing services, including for resource consent and compliance, fuel or process trials, or for in-house data gathering. We hold IANZ accreditation for many stack testing methods. Verum Group staff have extensive experience in interpreting resource consents so that your testing is carried out with minimal fuss and cost. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff can help with guidance for the installation of sampling ports, access options, and on-site testing methods which best suit your needs.
Environmental Monitoring
Verum Group specialises in assessing soil and water. We have experience managing agricultural soils and contaminated sites including from timber treatment, landfills, sheep dips, horticulture, petroleum, or chemical storage/handling, as well as monitoring of discharge to water from mining and municipal sites.
Ambient Monitoring
Ambient air is the air that surrounds us – it's what we breathe. Verum Group provides a variety of Ambient Monitoring services for particulate (including ultrafine and dust deposition) and gases such as SO2, NOx and CO.
Boundary noise monitoring
Your site's activity can produce noise that will affect its surrounding environment and potentially people and other activities present in the area, this is called boundary noise and is subject to resource consent. Verum Group can assess boundary noise for compliance with resource consents or zoning noise requirements.

Asbestos Sampling & Testing
We offer an independent, available-to-all, IANZ-accredited, rapid service to sample and analyse building materials and soil for asbestos content, and air monitoring filters to establish the airborne fibre concentration. Our lab can sample or provide explicit instructions for taking your samples for testing, and/or recommend professionals to survey your building, sample, or remove asbestos-containing material.
Contaminated Land Testing
Verum Group offers a range of nation-wide contaminated site investigation services. Our capabilities include cost-effective preliminary and/or detailed site investigation; site remediation action plans; and ongoing monitoring and management plans. Supporting these we have portable XRF real-time soil assessment; experience in chemical testing and analysis; and extensive laboratory support services.
